Zero Emissions

Every day there is a new addition in green energy vehicles. The word green energy vehicle brings a concept of modest designs and vehicles having low speed. But the bike designed by the final engineering students of Kingston University which totally dispelled all traditional stories about green vehicles. The bike has the ability to reach the speeds of 102mph and race around a 38 mile mountainous course.

The power system of bike is batteries which can be easily charged from a household socket. By the word Zero Emissions it is meant that it does not emit any kind of gas. So, it is a environmental friendly vehicle. It’s an initiative to reduce CO2 emission

The battery of the bike is 72 volt battery and its energy density is far less than that of diesel and petrol. So, the energy the bike carries is very critical in race. Vehicle efficiency is 90% so only 10% is wasted of what it carries. Whereas the vehicles those are petrol based waste 70% of the energy they carries.

While making the bike the focus was on making it lighter and faster. And the materials required for making the bike were recycled. It’s just like other bikes but there isn’t any combustion engine, no exhaust system and no fuel tank.  It is a future technology, by entering the green races and building green designs it is expected that policy-makers will see the potential for this green technology and will start investing in it.
